Remove negativity = Remove those around me

I keep being told that I need to stop being so negative on social media all the time now, that it’s not good for me. I am being told that I need to focus on just the positives to help with my anxiety. So I'm supposed to ignore the rampant corruption and hypocrisy around me? The problem with me removing myself from the negative is that I see this whole country as a negative right now. I see Christian America as a negative. I see family and friends who I used to respect as the negative. If I remove myself from the negative to help the anxiety then I remove myself from most the things and people in my life. I can't look online, or watch TV, or talk to family and friends, without being reminded the wrong path this country is on. I can't see people I respected praising a man who personifies the opposite of everything they taught me growing up, and not want to call them out on it. How am I supposed to rely on God when I'm being told by those same people that this horrible demagogue they elected to office is God's choice? If he is the Christian choice for president, or the candidate that Christ would approve, then why would I want to follow God? I truly believe that Trump is a test from God, and we failed.

I refuse to believe in a God who would condone, let alone support Trumps actions. That is not the God of the Bible, let alone the God of the New Testament. The beatitudes alone prove that he is more than unfit to be a president, let alone a Christian leader. Having the head of Breighbart news as your chief source of counsel, or Kellyanne Conway and your spokesperson, or Sean Spicer as your voice to the press, or any of the people in his staff and cabinet, is in no way the right Christian thing to do. These are people who lie and abuse and manipulate to get their power. If this is the government that Christian America is supporting, then I don't want to be a part of Christian America. I have NEVER been afraid to tell people I'm a Christian, until now. Christian leaders bully and bribe their way into positions of power, and then use that power to force their beliefs on everyone. That is not even close to what Christ taught us to do.

So if I remove all the negativity from my life to help with the anxiety, and the main negativity in my life is from Christians who are acting the opposite of how Christ says to, then removing American Christianity from my life is the quickest way. Nothing has ever had me question my beliefs more than the actions and words of those a trusted and respected.

I refuse to accept that Trump is the right leader. I refuse to accept that this country will be better with his leadership. I refuse to accept that making all the laws based solely on Christian morals and values is the right thing to do. I refuse to believe that as a Christian I am supposed to accept that Trump and a Republican run government is the right direction for this country. Lastly I refuse to believe that God would be happy with this countries direction it's currently headed down.

So I am working hard at reducing the stress, to reduce the anxiety, but I will not accept that this is a Christian nation. This is a melting pot nation, and Christians are ruining what made this country great in attempt to make it great. What defines great? Equal rights and opportunities for ALL regardless of race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation is what defines a great country. Respect and love for ALL defines a great country. That is what Christ taught, that is what he commanded, even if it's not comfortable, we still have to. He taught us to love our neighbors as ourselves, he taught us to care for the less fortunate and down trodden, and he taught us to teach by example not by force.

Sorry, I'll stop ranting. I just can't seem to cope with the fact that so many people I looked up to are choosing to be willfully ignorant of the truth, and are allowing fear tactics and propaganda to fuel them rather than searching for the truth. Since when do we as Christians follow the word of men so blindly over the teachings of the gospels? Since when do we as Christians bow our knees to men who display none of the things Christ taught us to be and what to look for in a leader and teacher? I welcome anyone to prove me wrong about Trump using scripture. I guarantee I can use more scripture to prove Trump is the wrong choice and that Christian America is no longer following Christ the way it was meant to, and I’ll even limit myself to the red letters.
