This rant is about the fact that when you're in need you come to me to vent because I am always here. I have been working hard to make sure that I am there for others how I would want them here for me. So you vent to me, I chat with you, you feel better about things, everything's okay. However when I come to you to do the same thing, to vent, chat, and you help me feel better, you tell me to go get help. Or you tell me to just get over it. Or you tell me that if I don't do it the way you want me to, then I am beyond anyone's help. Or you just never reply or talk to me at all. I really wish I was much better with words and able to channel my emotions better so that I could show people the fault in their thinking before it's too late. Regardless, here goes: The president is a conman and you have been duped. The government DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU unless you are paying them money (besides the taxes and fees placed on everything that you want to do). The NRA owns the government so there will be NO justice for all those who have died in mass shootings. The government DOES NOT CARE ABOUT NONWHITES unless its to tell them to stop complaining. When is it okay to hate someone? In my opinion, never. However, when you are up against people who do have hatred, you are more than welcome to be disgusted by them. You are more than welcome to demonstrate against them. You are more than welcome to let them know just how much hatred is wrong. Just, try not to let your hatred for them equal or surpass thier hatred for them, otherwise you are just fueling thier hatred even more. Does it suck, very much so. Is it hard to hear this coming from a cis white hetero male who has never known what it's like to be hated like everyone who isn't a cis white hetero male, yes. I was just asked why when I compliment women at work, I don't get in trouble with HR. So I figured I would share my secret to the world. The secret to not getting an HR call is making sure that compliments aren't the only time you talk to a woman, and making sure that it is an actual, simple, compliment and not a flirt or judgment of her looks. For example, if a coworker is wearing a skirt that you think looks cute, then say EXACTLY that at the END of a convo, "by the way, that's a cute skirt." That's it, that's the entire compliment, and it was at the end of a normal conversation. Keep it short and simple and move on. Why does this work? Because believe it or not, women are people too, and deserved to be spoken to as such. Which means having conversations on a regular basis that involve no compliments at all. It also means leaving compliments for the end of a convo to make sure that it is taken as a genuine compliment and not a flirt attempt. When you...
