I will not be bullied into silence, I will not be made to think that my feelings are illegitimate because they don't match your world view, and I will not let you tear me down to feel good about yourself.
Every single person views the world different than the person next to them. We see everything through the filter of our life experiences, and we couldn't remove that filter if we tried. However, what we can do is get new experiences, learn new things, meet new people, and adjust that filter till it is clear and actually sees the world as it is, and not just how we want it to be.
I'm still working on this myself, but it's not impossible. If you want change, you need to be that change, and it's okay if you have to start small then work your way up. There is nothing wrong with STARTING small, what's wrong is staying small. What's wrong is knowing you have your filter set to max, and not trying to change that. What's wrong is assuming that your world view is the only world view that matters. Reach out, learn, engage, teach, mentor, and expand your world and clear your filter.
